Amelia For Under Armour
7.2- Monday before MLB All-Star trip was as crazy as it’s been here at UA! All day I was jumping back and forth between projects and getting everything ready for the digital media team to activate in Kansas City!
7.3- As Americans prepared to celebrate the country’s independence, I readied for the game that epitomizes all that is America’s pastime! Sports Marketing, Events, Digital Media, Footwear/Apparel met to go over final preparations and how we would run the show in Kansas City. After going over our player roster, finalizing copy, editing interview questions, and getting the team ready, Maggie and I headed to DC for the Nationals Game. We also used our trip to campaign to get Bryce Harper into the All-Star game using the hashtag #BryceIn12.

After a tour of the Capitol, Maggie and I cooled off with some Milkshakes. Yum! Then it was time for the Nationals Game!
Go Team UA: Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman!

7.4- FIREWORKS outside of UA headquarters on the water. Does it get any better?
7.5-Thursday was the Last day of MLB Final Vote, where the fans get to pick one player to add onto the All-Star Roster. We had been campaigning for Bryce Harper since Sunday, and really started to ramp up our efforts on the final day! I basically tweeted all day, and wrote copy for all of our digital platforms. #BryceIn12 was #1 trending topic WORLDWIDE, maggie and I joked it was all thanks to us. In all seriousness, we are very competitive and were working very hard to get the boy to the big league All-Star game. His brother and sister were a big help in pushing out the message, as well as the Nationals! #UAFamily

Unfortunately, David Freese pulled away, but we had a feeling he would find a way to Kansas City…and we were right!
Week 5
6.25- I started off the day by queuing up Morning Motivation posts. I thought this would be a great way to have “ever-green” content and provide something followers can look forward to!
I am also luck enough to be working on a naming project for a new technology. Make no mistake: We are an innovation company!
We also had a calendar run thorough with the Ultimate Intern Team, as travel and tons of HUGE projects are coming up. Can you say : ALL STAR GAME?
6.26 - For most of this week, it was all ALL-STAR, all the time. The MLB All-Star Game is a great opportunity for Under Armour to demonstrate our partnership with MLB as official performance footwear of the League.
It also is a great opportunity to activate and showcase our athletes, therefore we are planning a talk show in conjunction with MLB.Com that will feature 5 of our athletes and Cal Ripken Jr. , who is a great supporter of our brand.
We also had 18 of the Futures players in the 2012 Futures USA vs World game, which demonstrates what a great job we are doing as a brand to support young players and make them better!
Such a big event requires a great plan to accomplish all of these goals, so my focus was to build out the digital media plan and help coordinate with the rest of the UA team to ensure we had everything ready so we could knock it out of the park!
6.27 -In addition to MLB All-Star Planning, writing interview questions for our players, treatment for Kansas City Royals Executives Interviews, I also worked on one of our biggest movie features ever, The Dark Knight Rises. I was happy to work on all the digital copy and coordinate when we would release information. I know I’m excited to see UA all over the big screen!
After work, all of the interns and their managers headed to Camden Yards for the Summer League night at the yard to watch the Baltimore Orioles take on the Angels!

6.28

Today is one of everyone’s favorite days at Under Armour, and a day that really shows what we as a brand are all about: empowerment. It’s UA FREEDOM day! The Campus Events team did a fantastic job of transforming the UA parking lot into a patriotic celebration complete with barbecue and country music blaring above the red, white, and blue balloons. Teammates took time from their busy schedules to pay homage to all the heroes who make sacrifices to secure our right to freedom. Thank you to all the men and women who PROTECT OUR HOUSE here, and abroad. You inspire us!
6.29- Red Tettemer our super cool Agency Partners from Philly were in town to talk about an upcoming digital program we will be launching, so stay tuned. It’s always great to see the RT &P folks, as they were instrumental in choosing me for the internship! After the meeting, Jimmy, Dayana, and myself posted up in a conference room to get ready for a UA Basketball Twitter Chat with Denver Nuggets Strength Coach, Steve Hess! Meanwhile, Lani and Maggie were out treading the turf up in Tiwson for Day one of All- America LAX!
6.30- The interns turned out to make All- America Lax a great success. Check out the star studded gear that the nation’s top players sported!

We even got a chance to catch the Senior Boys game!
Week 4
6.18. & 6.19-As Spine was releasing on 6.20, the entire company was abuzz about our biggest footwear launch yet. I certainly was aware of it, as I was tasked with working with my manager on all the digital copy that we would push out via facebook and twitter. I also took over the Under Armour Tumblr, which was very exciting to centralize compelling content in one place!
College Baseball was in full swing, so we had to make sure we were supporting the baseball boys via Twitter.

6.20-This was a great day to work for Under Armour, with the energy of the Spine unveil surging through campus. Just before he headed to NYC for the big reveal, UA founder and CEO Kevin Plank took the time to speak with the Summer League interns. He epitomizes the brand’s idea of growing big while staying small, and his message had one clear and resounding theme… “WE’RE JUST GETTING STARTED.” Thank you Kevin!

6.21- Today the interns were treated to a Speaker Series with a focus on E-Commerce, which is an exciting industry to be a part of as the UA brand is growing at an incredible pace! The VP of E-Commerce, the Senior Director of Merchandising, Director of User Experience, and the VP of E-Commerce Operations presented the facts and figures of the fast-paced department. What was great about it was how willing they were to answer our questions and let us get involved in the upcoming innovations. Interns at Under Armour have the incredible opportunity to make a big impact on a brand that, trust me, just keeps getting bigger!
6.22- Started the day off with a Follow Friday blog post and ended it looking back at one of the most jam-packed and productive weeks yet!

6.11.12- After a busy weekend in Atlanta, the team had Sunday to regroup and get revved up for another exciting week ahead. Most of my Monday was spent working on write-ups and digital copy to ride the momentum that UA Basketball had made with the greatly successful Grindsession 2012.
6.12.12- Being a rising senior in college…in most regards, is as overwhelming and scary as it gets. Yet, within the program at Under Armour it affords you exclusive access to some high-ranking and helpful executives. The group of senior interns and I had an interactive lunch with the directors of Men’s Professional Athletes, Women’s and Olympic Athletes, and the director of Grassroots, Camps and Combines. Everything from contracts to the sponsorship of the NFL Combine came up. I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity to discuss such interesting topics, with people who spend their days with some of our most valued athletes and employees. The greatest thing about the lunch was how willing they were to lend their time and experience! Much of their advice centered around having drive, making a commitment to something bigger than yourself, and getting it done! Thank you Ryan, Tori, and Eric!
6.13.12- Wednesday was one of the most exciting and action packed days yet. I walked in and found these lovelies by my desk!
From meetings with athletes about their performance apparel and specific needs, to meeting up with my teammates after work for a group workout, there is no dull day here! Check out Ultimate Intern graphic designer’s work on National’s golden boy Bryce Harper’s All-Star game campaign. Put Bryce on the ballot! #VoteUA

6.14.12- Thursday, and just when I thought I had experienced excitement at its apex, I was once again reminded how no day turns out to be just what I had expected. From writing copy about college baseball, meetings with the accessories department, then changing from casual work wear to a chic summer dress and heels for the Zims Foundation “Night at the Park” with the Washington Nationals, the day flew by at warp speed. Next thing I know, the Ultimate Intern Team is jamming to Train’s “Fly by” on the freeway to the Capitol. This summer is turning out to be a great opportunity to accomplish quite a bit of my Bucket list: saying “I’m on the list” at a VIP event: CHECK! We strolled in on the red-carpet and dined with some of baseball’s finest talent and industry execs. Ryan Zimmerman is truly remarkable, on and off the field. His appreciation for everyone’s support was hearfelt and his demeanor, humble. I can see why he is such an exemplary face of the UA brand: Humble and Hungry! After Guster jammed on stage at home plate, we returned inside for dessert and were soon driving back to Baltimore!
6.15.12- T.G.I.F. After a great time in DC, it was time for another event: The Baltimore Ravens 7-on-7 Championship at M&T Bank Stadium presented by Under Armour. The event featured exclusive jerseys, gloves given out to the players, and an interactive footwear booth for players to try on the highlight cleat and other styles for size!

Andi and Eddie, the grassroots football interns, and dynamic duo did a great job setting up and making sure everything ran smoothly. Props to all those who contributed to make the event a great success! Several of the other interns even showed up to take in the action, as we watched from the field at M&T Bank Stadium, underneath the Friday Night Lights!

Under Armour welcomes Kojima to Inner Harbor. As part of the star-spangled sailabration, a celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Baltimore, the Japanese warship will be docked in front of UA headquarters and offering tours of the tremendous vessel. The entire UA community has come out to welcome the Japanese Coast Guard.
